More fear mongering. It's all you got because you don't have science or facts on your side. Just innuendo and threats of a tyrannical government.

You did!

Fun conversation, but now I'm heading to the cabin to enjoy life.

Maybe I'll check back to the insanity on Monday!

|cure: lead a healthier lifestyle.

How many lives could have been saved from COVID if people took this excellent advice?  Better yet, if the government actually gave this excellent advice.  Why do you suppose they don't?

With the knowledge that 78% of the people in the ICU in March were obese, my guess would be half (2.2 million people) at a low estimate but possibly closer to 3 or 3.5 million.

Once again, heart disease is not contagious. If I live a healthy lifestyle, I cannot still catch it from a potato chip eating couch potato. Genetics is another thing altogether.

Covid, on the other hand, I can catch from someone in line at 7/11 who probably doesn't even know they have it, or maybe they know they have it, but don't care. I hope maybe you can see why there is a difference here.

In fact, I myself, am overweight and have diabetes and slightly high blood pressure. All this should not be a death warrant for me. I am not careful. I don't wear a mask (what good would it do, this is Texas and no one else is wearing one). I shop in crowded stores. I go to Astros games. I've been lucky enough not to have caught Covid yet, but just in case I do, I feel safer knowing that I am vaccinated, so at least my body has a head start to fight it. Unvaccinated, I am pretty sure I'd have real bad time with it.

Keep watching the studies out of Israel.  They may be nearly 80% vaccinated. Keep an eye on them.

I don’t really understand the anti-vax crowd. I personally have had countless vaccines over decades of life.  I know measles and polio are unheard of now, while when I was a kid, I knew friends who had each one.  A friend with polio limped as a result.

There is that bunch that didn’t live through that like I did and they think all vaccines are some government evil jab. They can’t be fixed or persuaded.

There is another bunch that is not anti-vax, but want more info. It is the reticence of the health community and government to supply pertinent and consistent info to the public.  Or when the info comes, it gets a contrary report from elsewhere.

Examples of contrary info:

2 weeks to flatten the curve. No, lock down till… whenever.  Lock down until we get a vaccine. No, even if vaccinated, keep masked and distanced. Maybe lock down again.

Mask up.  No, you don’t need a mask.  Wear two or three masks. Only an N95 mask is effective, cloth and paper are only 10-40% effective.

Vaccines, once rolled out, will allow us to get back to normal. Well, not so fast.  You may need a booster in six months.  Maybe another after that.

Vaccine and you are safe. No, you are not, if an unvaccinated person walks by.  Why did I get the shot if it doesn’t protect me?  Did you lie to me?

We need to reach herd immunity. Well no, we need the vaccine.  But between natural immunity and vaccinated folks, we will break free from this.  No, don’t even mention natural immunity, you are a quack.

I guess I could go on. I consider myself a reasonable person.  I honestly respect whatever conclusion you draw for yourself and your family.  We are all Americans (plus a few Canadians, Brits, and so on). But if I want to wait until real data comes in rather than changing recommendations… That’s why I am watching reports.

Peace.

You can either live or you can live in fear, make a choice, keep it to yourself and leave everyone else alone.

This thread needs to die or be locked.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For my friends and family who have recently gotten their CV shot or who know they will get one soon, good for you! I’m so glad that this option is available for you!
For my friends who aren’t sure they will get one just yet, or maybe ever, or already know that they never will, awesome for you too! I am happy that you have this choice. Medical freedom is important!
The wonderful thing about INFORMED CONSENT is that two people with the SAME INFORMATION can make two completely different choices and neither of them is right or wrong. That is what MEDICAL FREEDOM is and should be.
There are BENEFITS AND RISKS TO EVERY MEDICAL PROCEDURE!!
Doing the “right thing” means you’ve weighed the risks and benefits for yourself, and are making an informed decision! The only wrong decision IMO is made purely out of fear, social pressure or emotional reactivity. If you have researched your decision and are comfortable with it....great!
🌝🌚What’s right for one person may be wrong for the other, both on an intuitive and biological level. We’re all doing the best we can with the information we hopefully have spent time digging into.
Let this be a gentle reminder *for all* to please respect each other and be mindful of the message we put out there.
🙎🏼‍♀️🙎🏾‍♂️ Is everyone “wrong” because they believe differently than you? They very likely have just as strong of a reason for their choice as you do.
Reminder this information is also part of one’s personal health information act and you have the right to not answer when asked whether you choose to get the shot or not.
So whether you choose:
✔️A CV shot
✔️ No CV shot
OR
✔️ A Tequila shot
You’re okay in my books and I respect your decision…
🙎🏼‍♀️You’re NOT ok in my book when you start being rude to others because they made a decision that was BEST for them. 😘
Division in this country is NOT something we need right now. Get over yourself and love one another…. No matter what…. No matter what.
#LoveandRespect
#MedicalFreedom
*Not my original post*
I love and respect you all the same no matter what you decide! 😘

OK, let's get a little surreal for an analogy.

Don't consider the expense or practicality of this, but assume that you want to be in a state of constant marijuana high and that you have a legal right to do this. You then keep a 'weed' fire burning out in your yard, allowing you to walk your property and maintain your high.

I, a next door neighbor, do not want to maintain this constant high. Since it is not practical to keep your air exclusively circulating on your property, I must wear a respirator when outside, have a sealed house with it's own filtered air, and I must change clothes as I enter my house through an airlock. Never mind the hoops that I must jump through with my car and implications for guests that want to visit me or implications of residuals acquired by my clothing as I walk through our common outdoor air, then visit other locations.

Of course, I will probably not be your only next door neighbor.

All of my, and other neighbors' extra trouble is justified so that you can exercise your "right" to roam free and be high. If we complain about our situation your retort is that we simply don't appreciate pleasure and no one has turned green and died the instant they set foot on your property and even then we must somehow prove to your satisfaction that this difficulty was caused by your weed fire. Finally, since you reject any hint of 'science' we have no means to change your opinion and improve our situation. Your rights are simply superior to any rights that we attempt to assert.

How stoned were you to come up with that? lol
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

What’s your address? I want to start shopping for houses in your neighborhood.

BTW, Referring to my earlier post, the science has no meaning nowadays. The science from our trusted authorities has waffled so much it can’t be trusted. You can find any science you want with google. So you get to decide which science is valid and which is not… that is what we have done on this thread.

Here is a good source of data for infections, deaths, hospital capacity, and such. You can drill down to the county level.

Here is a reasoned opinion on vaxx vs anti-vaxx.  I wish that it had not been published on CNN, because anti-vaxx types will probably reject any commentary published on CNN similar to pro-vaxx people rejecting any commentary published on FOX.

Why are we even talking about this? Everyone knows ivermectin is the cure for COVID.

While I hate to wish that people get sick, on one level I wish that large numbers of the anti-vaxx community would try ivermectin. Their collective experiences might fuel a more rational discussion of the issues. Fortunately ivermectin induced issues are typically mild unless a megadose is ingested and the illness will be more of a learning experience than a health threat.
