Daniel is correct.
We had this on a OLED of theirs, once set to enhanced input for the ARCs HDMI jack on the TV, all was well.

Seems some sets come set to enhanced, others don't, even though all are 2021 models.

This is good to know. Thanks for your input. This is all really helpful.

What ever became of this issue? Did the Enhanced setting resolve the issue?

prgno, It seems like it did, since there's been a few months of silence before your post.

Connected to the TV he also has an Android box and a security camera DVR, but he hasn’t used either of those devices yet.

But look at this:
And I had not turned on the Apple TV connected to my Yamaha AVR, LG TV, and DirecTV Receiver when the Apple TV's Deep Color setting screwed up in a confusing way HDMI Video OUT 1 and 2, and Audio 1 and 2.

We cannot assume that "just connected" means having no effect.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

For months the TOSLINK connection worked fine, then we discovered that both the Sony and Sonos Volume controls were active and sort of in series. The cable box Volume control counted as a Sonos Volume control. The customer could get into a situation where the Sonos Volume was max, yet there was very little system output. The Sony audio output seemed to be fixed, but there was a control interaction. In some respects it seemed as if the Sony Volume control was actually messing with the Sonos Volume Limit.

I'm not sure what happened to cause this. Anyway, I updated both the Sony and Sonos. The Sony updated twice. I was then able to go back to the eARC connection and use IR commands from the Cable box to control BEAM Volume and everything has been working OK. The customer can use both the Sony TV and Cable box remotes for Volume control and they don't interact destructively.

Do I feel all warm and fuzzy? No, but the system as been working well for several weeks.

Apologize for not updating.

Yes, the enhanced setting appears to have solved it.
