Was informed today they have frozen all purchasing and are only selling stock. The future at this moment is unknown. I sure hope whatever needs to happen happens because I for one think they have been an invaluable resource.

I believe you are talking about Fred's employer. It's sad to see any longtime business disappear. Not sure if it is Covid related but either way it will be a bummer to lose another supplier.
Like any industry now, it seems they all somehow get swallowed up or bought and used for a specific purpose then shelved.

If Snap did to them what they did to another distributor that has 7 branches, they lost Samsung. The place that lost it was doing really well with that brand and Samsung had congratulated them for it, as recently as January. They lost the brand in May.

I don't like where the industry is headed.

Are we referring to the place formerly known as AVAD?

SnapAV will own the market, then we will all suffer.

AVAD is gone... been gone. Their previous owners purchased Wave, to try and save them, then dropped Wave in the grease when it all failed.

Wave has since found new ownership, and is on the rebound. Doing quite well now in fact. I've developed many great relationships with Wave salesmen, and wish them all the best. I try to support them as much as possible because they always took good care of me through some hard times.

We need distributors, they need us. I've never really felt like any of the other ones cared about my business at all.

I'm beginning to wonder if the manufacturers want to do business through distributors.

I will stop doing business if Snap is the only choice. I have never purchased anything from them, nor do I plan to. Cancer to our business.

I didn't use AVAD, only read about the disappointment after their purchase and the downturn in service.

Snap went public two days ago, too. It's almost up to its opening price.

Too be honest, they have been a good supplier, for me. Support has been very good and the arrival of the "If you call us to talk about our products, we'll send an HDMI extender set" was a case of perfect timing because it coincided with the failure of that POS Spectrum crap I had bought, but it didn't work as advertised. Since it had been more than a couple of weeks, SDI wouldn't let me return them, so I was stuck with them. That also coincided with me reducing my purchases from ADI.

WAVE may have got a boost, but they're still gasping to survive.

After AVAD got involved the perfectly useful WAVE website got a redesign and has been a useless POS ever since. Every time I ask our sales guy about it he always says "they're working on it".

After Gary left WAVE it was just a matter of time until it turnt AVAD.

AllNet opened a block away from WAVE, and runs a pretty tight ship.
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

Are you referring to the Houston location?
If so, i personally feel that overall location is absolute crap.
Now if Allnet opens a north branch like Waves north branch (the Woodlands) then it would definitely put a bigger hurt on Wave.

Cheap rent in the ghetto!

AllNet definitely beat Wave for the sketchiest branch location.

I'm not sure about that. WAVE's north branch is real close to a very sketchy part of town. A couple of times I've been there the police had a helicopter circling overhead looking for someone.

And this helicopter was there a couple times while you were also there?  hmmmm

j/k :-)
