Um, excuse me for interrupting, but I thought the one thing in common between computers and A/V (as with many things in life), is that if you are curious, you explore, find out stuff, and learn! If you aren't, you don't. If you've spent 8 years, or 10, or 4 months or whatever, just doing what you're told/asked without looking for different/better ways of accomplishing things, or just wondering what all the buttons do, you can't have learnt very much.
Just a thought.
