Anyone installed one yet?

Wondering if the picture quality on this year's model is better than last year or about the same...

I have a customer interested in the LG Gallery TV - only problem is you can't leave a static art piece on there for long periods of time - not sure about this year's model though.

I've done a few. I think the picture quality is about the same. This year's model is thinner by about half than previous models. The no gap mount is different. It's 2 clips on the TV, one on the left and one on the right, that hangs on 2 separate brackets that's attach to the wall. I've had trouble getting this model to sit flush to the wall. Not sure if it's just been that the walls are exactly flush or something on the bracket keeping from sitting flush all the way, but everyone I've done so far has had a 1/4-1/2 gap. I do control4 and there aren't drivers available for them yet but you can use a driver for a different model and it works just not with sddp.

This years LG is the same as last for "gallery mode"

If you want a piece of art that can double as a almost watchable TV : Samsung Frame

If you want the very best picture quality that the industry has ever produced that has a app to occasionally display rotating set of art: LG G1 OLED

I installed 2 today. What a pain in the ass the new wall bracket is. I want to talk to the guy who thought two separate mounting brackets was a good idea. I also want to talk to his boss who agreed with him. TVs are thinner, remote is solar charged (no white remote).
Knowing that Gold went up a few K makes me think "well now I have to do a better job on selling more equipment".

I fell your pain. Nice once it is installed and set up.

I have a 55" on the way and will let you know, nice to know it's getting thinner too. I'm not excited about the double wall bracket, reminds me of when I have to hang pictures with nail hooks on each side instead of centered (annoying).

Had to laugh when I ran across this thread. That mount is pure trash. Bid an extra hour for sure

The 55" is up and working great, the picture and audio have been exactly what I needed for a small conference room. I'll agree that the mount takes more time/effort and the one side didn't want to "click" in right away too (walls are never flat across). For the overall look and picture frame effect it works great and even fooled a few people with the factory bezel.

Stopped doing them because of the mounts. Absolutely ridiculous of them.

btw, sddp works fine now

Did one today.  Laser level, wall was flat, seemed ok.  Can level it a bit after.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
