As the title states, I am trying to find a recessed media enclosure similar to the ones made by future automation, snap, chief, and others, that is deeper than 4". I realize that most of these products are designed to fit inside a standard 2x4 stud bay. I was hoping someone might build something deeper. FA builds some other enclosures with the depth, and surely they would be happy to custom fab something. But the cost would probably be a bit over the top.

Specifically, the use case would be mounting an xbox series x behind a TV on an articulating mount. I have the depth inside the wall. Might be a science project.....I already have some ideas. Just hoping there is something readily available.

How much depth do you have? What about a short rack mounted flush?

I have probably 8" to work with. This is for my own house. TV wall backs up to a shower. I am thinking I might just build something.

I foresee a lot of plumbing in your way.

Anyways, since it's your own house, just open it up and then frame out a little niche. Totally custom.

I've already opened it up enough to put in an arlington recessed box. I know what I've got to work with. I think I will just figure where exactly the mount will sit, then build a custom recessed shelf between the studs and flush with the wall.

Awesome idea.

You could look at having a metal shop fab it for you...I have a guy that I use for stuff all the time, and it's always less than I expect it to cost.
