I’m looking for a module to trigger an audio clip when an alarm is triggered (DSC or Qolsys). This is for a job with no control system.

I found this but it looks ultra cheap and junky, but mayne I’m wrong. Any other suggestions appreciated.

Viking Electronics may have something. For example, this module can be triggered via contact closure. [Link: vikingelectronics.com]

I've used this own the past if you have an audio system to play it through.

If you need an amplifier to power a speaker, they also have this:

The Niles Audio DBI-2 was the most popular solution in home automation systems, but it was discontinued about a year ago. Below are replacements I've seen recommended on various forums, in addition to the Gilderfluke mentioned above:

The only one I've personally used is the Barix, which is great, and can do a lot more than simply playing sound files.

Here's seconds and thirds for Gilderfluke. See the link below for an item I put in that announces entry to the foyer and plays for twenty seconds after people leave the foyer. Sound ramps up and down appropriately.

It uses a PIR sensor triggering the Gilderfluke combo stereo power amp and SD chip playback unit in the video. It's been going for eight years now.

Here it is:

The range of other stuff they have is fantastic.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
