This has not been an issue for me before. Everyone I've installed them for is using the art function.

Has anyone had any luck turning off the art mode completely with the Samsung Frame TV?

I bought a QN43LS03TAFXZA on clearance from disty because my 40" Sony never came back on after power outages in Houston 2 weeks ago.

I just wanted a regular TV but this deal was hard to pass up, plus, even retailers didn't have any decent in stock locally.

So, now I have this TV that, when I turn it off, the art comes up, so it's really not turning off. It's in the back bedroom, so there's no reason why it needs to show the art.

You can turn the art off with a long press of the power button, but you have to do that each time, and sometimes we forget. Not to mention, it's just kind of a hassle at midnight or so, when you just want to shut it off and go to sleep.

Does anyone know how to just turn it off completely? No, Samsung tech support has not been of any help.

Currently, I'm just using my TiVo remote + the Samsung One Remote to control it.

But when you turn it off with a press and hold, does it actually GO THE HELL OFF ?

Okay, it's a hassle, but is there anything about the "off" you get this way that is not satisfactory? I mean, if you decided for reasons of your own that you wanted a projector in that room, wouldn't you learn pretty quickly to press and hold the OFF button (or similar) ?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

232 is the only way to have a discrete true power off if you don't want to long press the power. The power and art operate on a toggle. It was/is a complete idiot fail not to have discrete ON, ART, and OFF IR codes. I think some use programmable stacked repeats to simulate a long press.

I would like to see a setting to have the "off" choose between putting the TV into art mode or ambient mode.

Yes, I understand it's called an "Art Frame TV" but I personally select an ambient feature about half the time.

I have integrated a handful of them with URC CCP remotes. I create a button that I call Long Off, that is a standard off command with about 24 repeats. If you didn’t mind using a URC remote, you could have an ambient off button and you could have a complete off button, depending on which you want.

Seriously every TV should have a "dumb mode" option where it completely disables any streaming, CEC, art mode, etc. Customizable of course so you can leave certain options available. Sony pro mode comes as close as you can get, by experience, but it dumbs it down too much if you ask me to where you cannot get to the menu to do updates or adjust the picture in that mode. Kinda annoying if you just want to turn up the contrast a bit.

Your distributor has a pile of RS-232 dongles that they'll ship out if you ask.

You can change the art mode settings so that the art turns off after x minutes of no motion being sensed in the room, and/or turns off in a dark room. I’m confused.

Can turn off the art with a long press of the off button after the TV as been turned off. Annoying if you don't have a control system, but it is what it is.

You know you're replying to the OP right?

OP, did you set the brightness on the ART mode as low as it gets?

I know this is a few months old thread but I dealt with this today. Builder wanted frame TVs. Homeowner bought as an AirBnB. Didn’t like the art feature for guests because it stays on. I couldn’t find a way to turn it off completely so I made a work around. I took a picture on my phone covering the camera so it’s just a black screen. I downloaded the app “image size” resized the image to 3840x2160 & uploaded it to the smart things app, made sure “no mat” was selected, 5 min timer, brightness all the way down & motion set to low. Now when the guests turn off tv with Roku it looks like the TV is off. Thanks samsung 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

Is this the part where we get to complain about the cable from the One Box not being in-wall rated and is FIVE METERS LONG?
