Can it be set to bridge mode? Is it a good enough router to handle an entire home? Is it easy to set up? Installed one but didn't have time to look deep into it

You don't even need to use it, you can plug directly from the starlink POE adapter to any router you want. I have been very impressed so far, my customers are getting 150/30 in extremely rural eat coast Canada.

Note: The StarLink app for system details, only works while using the StarLink router. So initial setup needs to be done with the StarLink router. After that, you can swap it out.

Also note the IP thru StarLink is Nat'd (like other sat services and cellular 4G). So port forwarding, DDNS, etc. is not going to work. They have been quoted as saying that might change in the future.

Is there an option to pay extra for a public, static IP?

Not that I have been told. But this is still in Beta and they have already indicated several possible changes that will come at official launch (2022?).

I've had my deposit made since available on day 1. My area (Southeast GA) should be available for service in a few months. So I'm hoping I get picked on 1st round for this area.

I have sent emails asking about installer programs. The only response I have got so far, was what seemed to be a canned message about DIY and plug & play. If they think most people are going to try and set this up themselves - or be OK with a thick black cable running thru an open window in their house - then SpaceX doesn't seem to have very smart people running that department.
1) They need a permanent mount option.
2) They need to give specs on the cable, so a custom length can be made and terminated after installation (I suspect it's just a Cat6A shielded cable).
3) And they need to offer more extensive diagnostic tools for service.

It will be interesting to see what the price will end up being.

If you have a Twitter account, shoot a tweet @elonmusk. From time to time, he responds to people. I know several YouTubers who have asked @elonmusk for features in their Teslas and he responded and a couple software updates, the feature is fleet wide.

Heck Dirty Tesla on YouTube purchased the FSD when he bought his Model 3. And he was not picked out of a random drawing to go through the beta testing for FSD. After he, and a few other people, tweeted @elonmusk. Dirty Tesla received the FSD beta. And has been showing it ever since on his channel.

My point is, write a short request for pro installers as well as to receive the dish as soon as it becomes available in your area. So you can start testing it and selling it.

But cloud services for cameras, eero and such will still work without Starlink router?

I would assume that it only does the self alignment upon initial step up.

There’s a possibility that the dish has its own address, even with a customer owned router. [Link: 192.168.100.1]

Just got it from Reddit, and I do t have Starlink myself. [Link: reddit.com]

That would suck as I have it temporarily mounted on a field of snow where it’s going to melt and Ive connected my own router. Plan is to mount on the roof when safe then Im going to have to source a roof mount device

If you have one, why don’t you hook up your own router. Go to the address that I mentioned above and test it out. Then obviously get back with your results too.
