Crazy, John!

How many hours/days/weeks to set up?

How do you sleep with the lights flashing?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

I take a week off during Thanksgiving to get it done.Everything is on a schedule. Turns off at 930 on weekdays and 1030 on weekends. Some of it is actually automated by my Total Control system.

This is genius. Especially the fan-driven-cloth-air-tube-advertising guy, whatever those are really called. It's GREAT to have one random element like that amongst all the totally programmed motions and sound.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

"Flip Mode is the Greatest!"

Way to go, John. I hope you give or get all your Xmas dreams... except for anything Packers related, of course.

I need to finally give credit to Ernie.  He pointed out that my spelling of Seuss in the title was incorrect.  I copied and pasted it from the file name of the song and didn't catch it.  He is the only one to notice it so far and I actually appreciate him pointing it out.

i've asked my facebook friends to shame me for the error.  one of them shamed me in a seuss-like poem.

thanks everyone for the kind words  :)

oh, and it's a "wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man"

if you say that 3 times fast, Busta Rhymes shows up and gives you a high five.

Well, thanks, but you actually don't need to: I'm sort of an idiot savant proofreader. I proofread by accident sometimes.

Once in the late 80s I walked into the ad department of the place where I worked, where they had proofs of ads up on the wall, and the misspelled name MITUSBISHI* jumped out at me from a newspaper half-page sized advertisement.

I didn't want to offend, so I cautiously asked the ad guys when they were going to use that particular artwork. They said "we've been using it for a couple of months. Why do you ask?" I told them to stand in front of it and read it. To their credit, they said, "looks like we're going to have to change that!"

The thing is, every week that ad copy was used, it was approved by the higher-ups at HQ and by ten different store managers. And me, radar boy, I had to be the one to see it!

*That should have been MITSUBISHI. That's the name of a company that used to make televisions and projectors. (Did you ever think that would need an explanatory note?)
