With the Sonos Arc, Beam and others working quite well with the Arc connection, has anyone hooked up a surround receiver in the same way? That is, use the TV for HDMI input selection and use the stock TV or cable box remote for automatic power on/off and volume control. I have a feeling Yamaha receiver will not turn off when the TV turns off but are there other surround receivers that will?

What were your troubles? Did the receiver turn on and off with the TV? I wonder too if the Amp can be set to TV input automatically when the TV turns on.

Mainly it was changing sources
You/the user needs to use the input button And sometimes that seemed to “not work” ever time
As far as I know, cause she has not called back Spectrum STB to Sony Tv to Yamaha AVR has worked very well, using the Spectrum remote...
