I am looking for a 2-3K projector and 120 ($?) screen. This will be an ambient light situation as this room will be open and inviting hang out space, not a dark room that no one wants to hang out in, sports bar-ish if you will. There will be a panel TV at the opposite end of the the room but want the projector to be used for regular TV watching and sports (if I ever watch them again). There is even a gas fireplace in this room.
My 10 year old Sony cant hang at all.

I have not paid attention to projectors at all in the last decade and the volume of new projectors are overwhelming to make an informed decision.

So here I am asking you, the ones I trust, the ones out there making people happy on a daily basis what you might think would be a viable choice on the matter.

Thank you for taking the time.

I'd do Epson at that price and some sort of a grey ALR screen at minimum. It bugs me to no end when I walk into a bar/microbrew place with a washed out, unwatchable white screen.

No better time to give them your card!

I suppose one should ask if there will be a lot of off-axis seating, since that would definitely affect which screen you'd use...
