Seems like this would be a no brainer but a quick search turns up nothing. I'm talking something like an Airport Express, only it's only purpose is to provide an Airplay 2 line level or digital output.

A search turns up "acemax m5" and this leads to a few other devices. I have no experience with any of these.

Why would you want a one trick pony like that when so many pieces can do more, just to keep the cost lower?

Yeah, if someone has an existing multichannel amp and is on a budget, just throw three or four pre amp modules on there and done. I have some budget customers I run into and like to have options.

What source(s) would be used? If a hard drive, I would look for something that works with DLNA as well but after using a MusicCast WXC-50 for a few years, which can do these and more, having a couple of those and being able to use one for some areas and another for other areas or one for all areas, it works so well that I would hate to use Sonos. Plus, the WXC-50 has optical and coax input for digital, so a TV could provide sound if someone is having a football/baseball/basketball/curling party, unlike Sonos (and I'm still pissed about that).

No curling on Sonos? Oh no.

No, that would be on TV.

Listening to curling- what a completely riveting experience that must be.....

Growing up outside Detroit, we got CKLW Channel 9 from our rooftop antenna. If not for channel 9, I would’ve had no idea what curling was, nor why anyone would engage in such a silly endeavor.

It's as exciting as golf or chess but with no high ego stars...

I'm becoming more open to using Airplay 2. I used to use Airplay before Sonos and told people it's not much different. Still not fully confident about it. For one it can only support Apple users. It's also been said that Airplay 2 systems composed of different brands can play out of sync
