Did a search and there isn't much info on any of the forum boards from professionals.

Who here is using Fibaro? I see several people using the Z-wave sensors but I'm talking about the controller itself and apps.
Looking for something that can combine customer's piles of IoT crap under 1 app for them. Wink use to be a go to for this kind of situation but they now charge a monthly fee for service.

Have a customer currently with Schlage doorlocks, MyQ garage control, Honeywell T-stat, some Hikvision cams, and Vizia RF+ lighting. He previously had an original Wink but it died. Fibaro would fit this bill but wanted to hear people's experience with it.

So why wouldn't you use wink and pay the minor sum each month?
If they can do it and are good, isn't it worth something?
As they say, "If it costs nothing, that's what its worth".

Well a couple of reasons.

People hate paying monthly fees. So trying to add yet another monthly fee onto something that is usually free from most other manufactures/systems, doesn't go over well with customers. I would have to agree.
There may come a time in the future, where any & everything we do in life is regulated by a monthly fee. That will be a very sad day to see. And certainly something I would think most people would want to fight against, tooth & nail. There is already monthly fees coming to automobiles in the luxury market in a few years - things like $3 per month for your heated seats. Just shear insanity!!!
But I'm getting off topic now.

Wink in particular is a DIY system anyway. They don't have dealers or incentives for installers. Support for installers. Nothing.

Fibaro has a dealer network with a small margin available for dealers. They have tech support for dealers. And on paper looks like a nice setup.
Reading thru user reviews, I see a lot of complaints about connectivity in the app. But these seem to be all DIY installs. And we all know how some DIY people can be awesome (besting pros) but the vast majority are idiots that have trouble tying their own shoe laces.

So I wanted to see what professionals are using it, since they have a dealer network. And know there are several here that have used their sensors.
URC still offers the sensors thru their portal. But I see Fred's favorite distributor has now dropped the lineup.

Doing some more late night research. Their dealer thing seems to be BS! Everybody and their mother sells the equipment and it is all for the same price as anyone else, dealer or not.
No wonder A/V distributors mostly stopped carrying it.
Support also seems to be mostly thru their DIY forum board.

Love when these companies polish things to make it look like they want our support. But not really.

Reading a lot thru their forum board, it does seem like it is a neat and powerful system. But everything is 1/2 baked and it doesn't look like something a business should offer a customer. A dealer just could not support a customer with such a product - you would be making multi trips, several times a year.
It is absolutely a DIY product.

I installed one three or four years ago. It was quick and easy. I had forgotten about it until this thread. Granted, there is no dealer program, but for such an inexpensive, painless problem solver, I can’t get too upset.

Did that use their Home Controller and app?
Or was it just using some of their Z-wave sensors on something else?

Sorry, never mind. The device that I worked with was Flirc. Partial string search in my brain brought out the wrong product.
