I am looking to replace my aging Russound CAA66 system. I would still like to keep some sort of inwall keypads, no wall mounted iPads. SONOS compatibility is preferred. I have gone blank searching for a replacement. Please help. I am not a Control 4 dealer.

The usual response is to use what you would sell to a customer. Makes sense.
Beyond that. You mentioned SONOS, so why not use either SONOS Amps or SONOS Port(s) into a multichannel amp.
For keypads, use either the Lutron Audio Pico (for SONOS) or the iPort xPRESS Audio Keypad.

The only thing that has "Sonos compatibility" nowadays is pretty much Sonos.
Why exactly are you replacing the CAA66? Isnt that still a current piece from them? what exactly is lacking from the CAA66?
is there a budget in play?

This works with any control system and has ARC to fix room acoustic issues. I have been using one with my Elan system and love it. Integrates well with Elan G. [Link: anthemav.com]

Might be easiest to upgrade to the MCA line.
Probably get a upgrade discount as well, and if you have room install the larger keypads..

My advice would be to either do another caa66 or do one of the mca66 devices with a Russound streamer so that meta data shows up on keypads.
Check with your supplier for additional info...

I replaced an old CAV6.6 with UNO-S2 keypads that I had installed at my house with 6 of the new Sonos AMPs. I was a little worried about losing the local keypads at first, but don't really miss them.
My wife likes using the Sonos app on phone/tablet better than the keypads...

Keypads are nice because they will not disappear into a pocket or drawer somewhere and they are always available, even to users who don't have passwords.
Phones/pads are nice because they follow you around and probably display more meta data than keypads. Phones/pads are more likely to be updated to follow current trends.
Keypads are not very good at accommodating variations in vision or user height, but this may not be much of an issue for simple pads.
