Hi there,

All the previous threads about this topic is pretty old. We would like to revamp our proposal software. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I think D-tools is still the industry standard.

D-Tools! Takes some significant setup, hire them to help! You will never look back!

I'm guessing that it's as low as it's been in a few years now...

the learning curve on d-tools is def enormous on the desktop side. like devote assloads of time to learn how to truly use it to its capabilities. 10 years in i still haven't found the time and of course they wanna hose you in fees to get higher level training.

the cloud software has its own learning curve and isn't as powerful in some ways but more featured in other ways.

Personally i feel the desktop side has been a bit stagnant as far as new features go for quite awhile as others have swept in with decent modern offerings like ipoint, projx360.com

Idk, it's a tough one and still use multiple pieces of software as no one definitively cuts the mustard for everything from vehicle tracking, to time tracking to project management to inventory management to crm to accounting to blueprints/cad and on and on.

Competition to Dtools is good imho. It helps them all up their game.

Like everyone who's chasing the magical recurring revenue they are pushing hard to make that the standard but pretty sure for like 2grand a year you can still get a single license seat.

Jetbuilt is solid. $50 something a month for my one-man shop, many options above and beyond for the bigger guys.

Still using an older version of D-Tools desktop. Not planning on changing anytime soon. But a friendly competitor of ours showed me JetBuilt, if I was starting fresh I would definitely go that route.

$100/mo for d-tools cloud is some of the best money I have ever spent.  It saves me a massive amount of time managing my database, and allows me to bang out professional looking proposals very quickly.

We are very happy with simply reliable. Creates really nice proposals. I got a special 1 year deal on the business plan with design machine. So after you make the proposal, you can create the drawings and create the Control4 project all from the Software

PS. D-Tools is like MS Office. I wouldn't buy it just to use only Word. However, if you want proposals with excellent cost/margin reports, mobile install for the technicians, line drawings, status reports, integration with QuickBooks, a product catalog with all the devices specifications, etc., it is the right software.

The cost will pay for itself in one proposal acceptance. We spend about $3K a year for multiple seats of SI, mobile installer and full support, and never think twice about it.

This type of software is not about the cost. Any of them will take work to implement and a learning curve. Why not just start with D-tools and not have to switch later?

Mr Brad. Are you using the Cloud based D-tools also, or strictly the SI version? Looks like The cloud based includes CRM while SI does not? Cloud syncs with QB online while SI only QB desktop.
