One of my two Tivo clients called today, 1 old Romio and 1 Bolt bit the dust. Client looked on Tivo website and all they have is the new Edge box. Any gotchas with the new box?

I'd love to put refurbs or new drives in but got burned on a refurbed unit from weakness with this client. Hours on the phone and multiple cable cards ended up sending the box back, couldn't get it to recognize the cable card.

I've read recently that the Edge has been released with 4 tuners.

For me, I can't see why anyone would want to deal with the cable company, and cable cards, when there are so many other better options.

Not using cable, so I have no idea if there's a gotcha.

One problem with that AND the Tivo Edge CM is pushing.

Two tuners.

Honestly, I can pick up a refurb Tivo Roamio w/lifetime and a 1tb HD from Amazon for $249.00 (might find a working used one for half or more).

The only downside is the analog graphics banners, but tht isn't the worst thing in the world.

The AirTV 2 seems like a deal, until needing to add a HD, and then still come up short a couple tuners (which we use a lot).

What the hell, there is NOTHING on TV these days anyway.

I have a Roamio in the garage you can have for shipping. Not sure if they let you register it if it has been in the system with someone else’s name.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

According to the Tivo site, it requires the original owner make contact to transfer ownership.

The original owner needs the Model and TSN, and the name and email address for the new owner.

Without this it most likely will not be transferable, and will require a new account which costs more than buying a refurb Roamio from Weaknees.

PM me the details on it and I'll check to see if its a viable option...

Thanks,
Kelly
