Has anyone had issues with and if so found a solution for sending IR through smoked glass doors on cabinets?

I had a Cox Cable Company non HDD converter that worked good with these type of doors shut. However, when I upgraded to the new HDD model I have to leave the doors cracked to changed the channel on the converter. I exchanged the converter and the remote but the same thing happens. I think Motorolla built in a cheap reciever into the box. This happens with their remote and/or my URC-200.

Thanks,

Tony

I'll be the first of many who chime in on this one; install an infrared repeater system for all your components. You'll love it.

third to chime in....Xantech 291kit, IR kit includes everything you need for up to 4 components out of the gate, but you can expand if necessary. This kit is one of many of our must haves in every system, unless you have an LCD or Plasma tv, then you will need a CFL or plasma friendly IR reciever, which will set you back a a few more bucks (291kit sells for about $125 retail)

good luck and enjoy
