Looking for at least a 4x1 unit.  (edit: not a matrix)

We have had issues with Vanco in the past so I'd like to avoid them.  And we are currently having issues with the Metra CS-HDM4X1SW4 not switching with IR control reliably.  I'm currently working with Metra to hopefully fix that, but I need a backup plan.

Any suggestions on a decent switch with audio extraction?  Preferably something $150 or less dealer cost.

Is there any chance that you'd do better with an HDMI switch whose output feeds an audio extractor?

Let's say chances are 2/3 that you can find a switch that works perfectly, and 2/3 that you can find an extractor that works perfectly. Finding a device with both parts working perfectly, in the same chassis, is less than 4/9 because of the number of unicorns involved in integrating the two parts flawlessly and making HDMI signals behave.

And, let's say you suddenly had problems with audio: you would not have to throw out your great switcher while searching for a replacement audio extractor.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

thanks for not offering a product suggestion and making me read that nonsense.  please pretend my posts don't exist.

I think I've got a Xantech unit that will fit the bill.  I'll be ordering one to test out.

Could this work? It’s a 4x2 but it does work very well!

thanks, trying to keep this to a simple 4x1 or 5x1 though, not a matrix.  sometimes we use these stand alone and customers may need to push buttons, and a 4x2 would confuse them.

I have often used a Metra HDMI switch into an HDMI an HDMI Audio Extractor with no issues.

That's what I did in the past and had all kinds of issues.Brent told me to use their new (at that time) hdmi switch with audio extraction built in.

You also didn't happen to mention whether his suggestion solved your problems.

Would I be here asking for a new model if it helped? I thought you were good at reading comprehension. You have once again derailed a legitimate topic with your nonsensical drivel. I thought I made it clear that I don't value your opinion. I never have, and I never will. Find another topic to waste your time on.
