Has anyone had good experiences with wireless HDMI extenders?

I have an installation in custom mill work that I took over in 2012. Now it's time to replace a TV and only Component wiring is available. Running new cables is not a practical project.

Comcast has a new wireless cable box that could be an option, but I'm not convinced that the WiFi environment as clutter free as I would like.

This is a shore rental property that is a four hour round trip for me and I don't want to be constantly fussing with the site.

What kind of wiring is run for the component signal? Have you considered HDMI extenders that work over coax?

This one from SnapAV requires just one RG6, though it’s only 1080p and has other limitations:

If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

Wireless HDMI: NO!
HDMI over a coax terminated with a 75 ohm BNC: YES!

Note: Do not use RCA/BNC adaptors, they will not work.

Try Th Metra Home Theater MiniSDI unit, works great.

Just for conversations sake...

Roku has the XFinity App built in.  You lose some functionality due to lack of number buttons on the Roku remote.  But you can watch recorded shows, etc.

The interface is identical to the interface provided by the cable box.  Would I do it for the main TV? Probably not, but I would do it for any other.

Hmm, the Component cables are stranded, terminated with RCA's. I don't think that I should speculate that they are 75 Ohm.

I don't recall if there is an R/G-6 available.

I won't know the true situation until I pull the TV off the wall -- It's a big Plasma set.

Did you abandon the wireless units? I have an Ethereal one that works about 12 feet across the room. The other one I tried was more like 15 or 20 feet with only a closet door as an obstruction and it did not work.

I have had tremendous luck with the Peerless AIR products. Some used in a total last ditch God I hope it works situations. I probably have 9ish out in the field, and I have NEVER had a single issue. Over half of those are in the city too. I used the HDflow's but it appears its been replaced with this

WOW you must really hate yourself if you want to try anything made by IOGEAR.

Everything (and I mean everything) I have ever seen made by that company, has been a steaming pile of ....
Have replaced HDMI extenders, KVM switchers, WiFi adapters, and things I can't even remember right now. Never seen one of their products work fully correct, nor stay working for very long.

When they worked they were great, but there are so many external things that we could not control. And then there is the need for Deep Color and HDR.

Sadly stranded will not be 75 Ohms. So, that is a no-go.

I had to replace a KVM, that's one reason why I asked.

What’s the brand of cable? I’ve used Extron’s MHR cable forever and that is stranded and also 75 ohm.

If it’s this cable, I’d use it no problem.
