The customer wants an IP controllable outlet that is ethernet. On top of that they want an app to be able to schedule power on/off.

OVRC Home app requires the installer to create schedules it looks like, but I need the homeowner to be able to do that.

The only thing I've found that would seem to do this without getting really expensive is the Bluebolt SM-3PRO.

Any other suggestions? Doesn't have to be "pro", but it does have to be hard wired.

The issue with this is you cannot mix class 1 and Class 2 wiring within the same box so you will never find an outlet with this feature.

Using an additional device like Wattbox, bluebolt etc. will provide the features you want but will drastically increase the price.

I know you said no WIFI but Leviton makes a WIFI receptacle that simply replaces the existing unit and connects to the Leviton app and will be a fraction of the price and can be purchased at any box store. [Link: leviton.com]

I know it’s not an outlet in the wall. Where this would be a “wall wart”. But it is Ethernet based with an app.

Also on a side note... How is this legal? [Link: gordonelectricsupply.com]

I may not be privy to the wording of the NEC. However, my electrical teacher did say that 110vac and coax/Ethernet, can be in the same box so as there is a divider in the box. Whether that be a factory supplied divider(for the box) or field supplied, idk.

Never mind. I found it on Amazon and apparently a field supplied divider is allowed...

I dont think he needs an outlet for the wall. Neither of his examples were wall outlets.

These are a few examples, there are multiple ways to do this.

I love the way the board on the left is less than 1/4" from the hot side of the left outlet.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Wattbox with the customer having the log in. they can do what they want. Why make this more difficult than it needs to be? They can set their own schedules.

I was going to go Wattabox with OvrC home, but I tested the OVRC Home app on my phone and did not see a place within the app where the end user could set a daily schedule.

Did I miss it? They want it to be automatic.

Youre right, for now, it looks like OvrC home pretty much only gives the customer the ability to reboot stuff. Havent looked at it in a while. Couldnt even turn and outlet off and on, only reboot. Pretty lame. Plans are for improvement. It needs it. Not much value really for the end user.
