Looting for a rack mount 1080p media player that can display RTSP streams.

Anyone know of a product that will do this?

Not rack mount, but the Nvidia Shield Pro can run VLC (I think), which car run streams.

There are hundreds of products that can decode RTSP streams. What is the budget, use case, bitrate, etc.? Does it have to be rackmount?

Anything can be rack mounted with a shelf.

Roku has an IPCam viewer app.

Looking to take one single RTSP stream and output it to HDMI at 1080p. It’s the sole task of the device. Would prefer not to have to interact with it all once it’s setup the first time.

Anything that can run Kodi will be able to do that. And you could configure it to automatically start playing that stream whenever it starts (or basically any other usage case you could imagine).

A raspberry pi should do the trick?

I would recommend a Pi4 to get full GB network support plus the faster onboard RAM. The Pi3B+ shares network with the USB UART IIRC but will likely work just fine.

Note that with Pi4, you have to use USBC power supply and get a micro HDMI to HDMI adapter.

Crappy 100mit networking can make things painful in general. Also, it’s just a general sign of something using more modern/better components.

Frankly, I want to see 10gbit over copper finally get going. I feel like things have been stuck at gigabit for decades!
