I keep losing the little piece that clips into my crimp tool as I need to jump from RCA, RG6, BNC etc.

What is the easiest to use crimp tool that won't make me swap out parts that I can lose?

I have the Home Depot version of this.....I really like it, I’ve had it for 8 years since my Belden is buried somewhere in someone’s attic!

I have the old red Liberty one and do not have any reason to look elsewhere. I used the cable pro one, but like the OP, kept losing the dies. The Klein linked above looks pretty slick though. I like that it not only has the different die set on the wheel, but it is also adjustable. We have all run into the odd connector here and there that does not quite work perfectly with our tool. That would come in handy.

I use CablePrep HPT but will be getting the Cobra360 soon. It is good for f-connect and RCA ends but I use a Jonard tool for BNC.

The CablePrep one I use 98% of the time, so using 2 tools is no big deal for me.

And I use the CablePrep CPT stripper, love it.

CablePrep also had the MCT compression tool if you really need all 3 ends in 1 tool.

+1 on the liberty. I had one when I first started, but eventually lost it. Then for a few years went through multiple wirepath tools, but the dies kept falling out of the base where they store. When I moved companies last year, they provided a new liberty tool. I’d forgotten how much I liked it.

Same. I have had it for a long time too and its still flawless.

What i will say is that over the last year or so i finally broke down and tried planet waves...and i am in love with that stuff. So far i have only used it for RCA's but it works well and is crazy easy to terminate.

Agreed, I have a [Link: cableprep.com] that a few years back the plastic lever broke in freezing conditions. It had been a few years old at that point and the replaced it FOC. Awesome tools.

Also, if some goon gets into the rack and pulls on a cable, it's easy to re-terminate. I don't think I have had to re-terminate more than a couple and that was in a rack that has had so many revisions it's ridiculous- the homeowner can't make a decision and live with it, so too many changes have occurred over the 13 years I have worked there. I used Planet Waves at the beginning and have used it since with excellent results. I made some guitar and effect cables with their 1/4" plugs and that made a real improvement- the jumpers I had been using were real crap.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
