For a simple passive in line cable simulator. Makes no sense. Had distributer double check.

It seems like they they are encouraging about a $500-$600 minimum order.

If this does what you're asking for: [Link: thomasonbbs.com], then it can get got for less than five bucks, apparently even in small quantities.

I had to look that item up. We used to call those equalizers, because they have a response curve that's the inverse of cable. In fact they are not cable simulators at all, but rather inverse response cable equalizers.

If that's not clear yet, signal cable attenuates higher frequencies more than lower frequencies. If you have to run a long bit of cable, then amplify the signal, you want to use one of these doojiggers that has a response complementary to the cable's response... you'll end up with a lower signal level at the end, but flat, if everything matches up.

Of course, there's more to it than that, because of the nature of amplifiers and noise....
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I found those as well. Will probably go that route. $20.00 shipping. I believe they are referred to as cable simulators because they mimic the attenuation of 100ft of RG6 across the frequency spectrum typically used with cable service. The ones called equalizers attenuate the low frequencies to correct reverse tilt. Low band is too high.

Can you back up a step and tell us what you're trying to accomplish? This looks a bit like one of those problems where you've come up with a solution and you're having difficulty implementing it. Perhaps reviewing the original problem may yield a solution that's easier to implement.

In addition to home antenna systems, I did several antenna systems for retail stores back in the analog days. These systems fed signals to four hundred TVs, signals all within 1 dB of one another (at VHF), and FM only to 60 A/V receivers. These systems had a modulated signal on Ch 6 using a vestigial sideband filter to keep from interfering with Ch 5, and another modulated signal on Ch 3, which for a reason I don't remember did not need a filter.

Anyway, maybe I can help.
