Anyone know of discretes for these things? This is our first one and it isn't listening to Samsung's old discrete codes. We have last year's Frame in the other room and it works fine.

Thanks in advance

Oh boy. Haven’t seen one yet but following. Does it respond to their other codes.? Are there any firmware updates available..? Also, when you say old Samsung codes how old are you talking?

I'm referencing codes from the last Frame generation (or shall we say...a month ago). There are discrete input and a toggle power that exist but no discrete power codes.

We updated the firmware and that didn't change anything. We may try some work-arounds like ART mode to turn off and then toggle it back on. I'm not a fan of variables as when something gets out-of-whack, there's no intuitive way for the client to get everything back to OFF to start over.

I checked the Samsung dealer resource website and don't see any control documents published for the 2020 models.

Have you tried calling the dealer support number to inquire?

I'm guessing you're looking for IR code?  Does your control system support IP control?

I set one up a few weeks back. The old power codes put it into Art mode and back into TV watching mode. With URC, I made a discrete off code with something like a dozen or 18 repeats.

Any other difference with the new Frame TV's?  Is the fiber cable different again?  How about the external box, did it double in size again?

I haven't seen them yet, but have been told that all the One Connect boxes for 2020 have been reduced in size to 14" long.

All Samsung 2020 TVs have gone back to local connections except for the Frame TV's and the highest end model which is supposed to be available with or without the One Connect box (two different part numbers).

All correct. also 3 new sizes. 32" 50" and finally a 75" the 32" has a stainless bezel kit to match kitchen appliances. it does not have the same one connect as the 43-75"

they also announced new outdoor qled tvs!!
I love supporting product that supports me!

Here's from Samsung's consultants...

Discrete power on/off don’t work with Frame TVs. They just toggle between TV and Art Modes. That’s why to turn Frame TV off, you need to simulate the 2-second press and hold on the remote. To do this, you must send the Power Toggle repeatedly at least 20 times (IR frame = 108ms 2 seconds/108ms = 18.51 – therefore we send the power toggle commands about 20 times to get the 2-second press.

What's odd about the above is that our regular Samsung discrete power codes ARE working in the other room with a older Frame we sold months back. We didn't get a chance to test the above with the new Frame but I'm sure they would work fine.

I used an MX780 and an MX990 in different setups. Using code set 656, I set repeats to 24 and called it LongOff!

Any new info on this ? Samsung needs to update this TV. No discrete POWER IS causing me to lose my mind ... this customer of mine is losing patience . Smart HUB code wakes the TV up from ART mode . But off is only a toggle command .

It's a shame that Samsung is the only company to come out with a frame tv. Patented? Either way, Samsung's head is so far up its own ass in regards to their TV designs, form, and functions. I avoid them like the plague. The Frame is the only one I've sold in years and it's becoming increasingly harder to do so with a clean conscience.
