Send me your email and I will explain what I'm needing. Just WIDGET(s) to display some status info on the LYNDORPF MP50 prepocessor settings. Please let me know your rate. Should be a very simple job if you have expertise on NEVO and Widgets.

Thanks!!!

Just so you are aware.... And I'm pretty sure I'm not alone, any time a potential client tells me "Should be a simple job", I raise my price...

But I dont do Nevo...

LOL, I agree.
I don't think I have ever had a job that wasn't a nightmare, when someone said "It should be simple", "It should be quick", or my favorite "It's so easy I would do it myself but I'm to busy right now".

Example =
Customer: I just need you to change the color of this wall plate. Should be simple.
Me (3 days later): Well... when we pulled the wall plate off, the keypad came with it. The wood had rotted from a bathroom leak upstairs. I guess you didn't notice the keypad didn't work because it was shorted out. Had to replace the keypad but you don't have the program from the original installer, so we had to program the whole system from scratch, after all the repairs to the framing and sheetrock.
Conclusion, we replaced the wall plate and that will be $1,800 :)

Just need some Widget(s) to do a SERIAL port command to my Lyngdorf MP60 prepossesser and return the status on which INPUT is selected (like Roku box), which PROCESSING option is selected (like ATMOS), and which VOICE PROCESS option is selected (like NEUTRAL). Just display on the remotes screen which one of these is currently being used. That's it. There are SERIAL RS232 commands for the Lyngdorpf to do all those inquires.

Ive tried to do it. The widgets programming is not making much sense to me.

There is a widget posted here, remotecentral, that does this type of SERIAL inquiry only its for a Marantz receiver/processor. I tried to mimic it but no glory.

"Hey, can you look at this real quick before you leave? It should only take a minute"

We've lost a lot of good men that way. Never to be heard from again.

This is not quite detailed enough. Chances are the amount of detail needed to actually find that widget is the sort of detail needed to flesh out the meaning of "Very simple."
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I would be impressed if anyone still had a copy of that software on a functioning computer.

I tried to figure out earlier if "Nevo" means what I think it does. As far as i knew Nevo was dead years ago but then i found a site showing off a Nevo iOS app so i didn't bother posting assuming you had a Nevo app and not an old remote. If you are talking about the old handheld Nevo remotes continue reading...otherwise ignore me.

My guess is that there were only a handful of people who A.Programmed Nevo and B.Could do what you need to have done.

Those files you posted are from Duct Tape. You could try sending him a message here. He might be on lock down and willing to do this for you.

Don't bother with widgets on Nevo. The remotes aren't powerful enough to handle them. I ended up deleting them from every job i used them on because the remotes would reboot.

And there you go:
"Should be simple"
Someone who didn't know, could/would spent 10+ hours trying to get this to work reliably and finally have to give up because the product sucks (hence why they are gone).
"But, but, but... it should be simple!"

it's a shame too.  because the method of building widgets is quite intuitive.  i remember telling their tech support that it would be a really cool product if they had a central processor running it all.   then they discontinued the product line and went to an all mobile based control system.

Only thing worse than a client saying “it should be simple” is when the sales guy says “oh, this one is easy”

Great job! You saved money, you learned something, and now you can do it again later if you need to. Good work.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
