The province of Ontario and Quebec have mandated that all non-essential business close as of Tuesday at midnight. They will be sending out a statement tomorrow which will determine what is essential and non-essential. Have any of you been effected by a similar order in your province or state?

In Texas pretty much everything qualifies as an essential business.
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

California excluded construction and since I'm a licensed contractor I'm still doing some work at construction sites.

In our state there is this:

"Installation, maintenance and repair technicians that establish, support or repair service as needed."

People need to receive communications via Internet and TV. The above would probably fly in court.
See our Youtube page for info about smart homes, great audio and more.

I thought the Feds labeled integrators as "Essential" because of the TV/Internet connection.

There was an article in CEPro, but I didn't read it...because of the login BS.

So business as usual just close everything that has large gatherings of people.
I like it.

PA is locked down but we are classified essential. I've limited work to only emergency service calls though

The list of essential businesses in West Virginia is ridiculous. It's pretty much everything but bars, restaurants, and Entertainment venues. And yes, coal mining is on that list of exemptions.
Lord loves a workin' man; don't trust whitey; see a doctor and get rid of it.

The list for Ontario was pretty decent, lets a fair number of people continue to make a living.
But to listen to a radio talk show this morning you would think it was the end of the world. They talked with a bunch of construction workers (both commercial and residential) who all said they hoped to be told they had to stay home, and it was crazy to continue to work. They also said they would lose their business if they didn't continue though because the GC would just find someone else.
I don't get it. Wear gloves and a mask if that makes it better for you, and the big thing they have been trying to get through our heads, keep social distancing a priority. You know your own crew, if someone has traveled recently, make them stay home for 14 days, the rest can go about their business and get the job done.
GC's might have to slow things down a bit and not have 3 or 4 different trades on site at once so people can stay apart.

I was happy to see the break down.

Workers want to stay home because they can collect EI most of them. The company they work for still have to survive.

Exactly

I wish they would do that regardless of Coronavirus

I'm in Houston, the lock down really didn't mean much. Most businesses that need to shut down had already done so.

The most important essential service they listed: liquor stores.
