Still working but had 2 jobs that paused.

We'll see how next week goes.

We have to remember how the virus spreads.
As long as your client does not have a house full of people coughing and sneezing all over the place, and they promise not to lick your tools, their home should be a relatively safe place to work. Of course you have to promise not to come into their home and start sneezing, coughing and you will not lick their TV remote control. All should be fine for you to do your job.
If clients with resi construction projects are concerned, the GC could always slow the project down a bit by having only specific trades on site at a time. Keep the numbers of workers low, and everyone can do their thing without having to work on top of each other.

There is a current note in the news pointing out that some surfaces can remain infectious for up to three days.

Update: Another article suggests that the virus can survive up to nine days.

Bottom line: I think that we are still learning about COVID-19.

People will try and get by for as long as they can. But let's be real, when essential things break (i.e. internet, TV, etc.), they are going to call someone. And when the service provider won't come out (or the client doesn't trust them), I expect I'm going to get the call. Which I will be desperate to do at that point.

In negotiations for payment, I hope to barter several rolls of toilet paper to bring back home.

And on that note: WTF are all these people doing with the toilet paper!!! I'm down to 5 rolls left and stores have been empty for over a week. Store employee told me when they get a truck in, people are waiting to take every last roll they have. It never even makes it to the shelves.
I'm mounting bars on the truck now. I will have to hit the highway to look for the supply trucks. Go all Mad Max on their arse and take a load.

Trying getting bread if you’re not there when the grocery stores open. Had a toasted tomatoe on cinnamon bread yesterday. That’s all they had left. Gross🤪

Isn't it amazing how the priorities of the world change when you grow up (or have little people depend on you)?  If only young people could see the world through the eyes of an old person.

And to think that some want to drop the voting age to 16.

Find different stores. The one I use most has done a great job keeping up with the extra demand, although they do run low on some things that have a short shelf life if not frozen, like bread (yes, it can be frozen and it's not as good, but this is almost a matter of survival). The produce section is better than usual, too.

I have been reading that the virus is viable in the air for 72 hours, this coming from medical professionals. That means I don't want to go to a lot of places where large numbers of people have passed through.

Yea, I would think avoiding places like airports, train stations and the many other places that are subject to lots of human traffic make sense to stay away from.

I see one big issue we all have to face, everytime they talk about social distancing, the next picture often shows 100's of people in lines at grocery stores.
So they have shut down theatres, concerts, sporting events. Even restaurants are only offering take out options. But you can still go to Costco and load up with everyone else.
The spread of this will be very difficult to contain.

There was a news story about a Costco in China that metered people into the store and limited purchases of short stock items such as sanitizer and TP. They also had cruising staff that would break up clusters of people. I don't know if this is also the policy elsewhere.

Here in Canada (Ontario) we are seeing the effects of it. We have received notice from one builder that they are only allowing one trade on site per day and another builder who has stopped all interior trades as of end of day today (March 20th). I am guessing by the end of next week all sites will be shutdown or trades will voluntarily stop going to site to minimize interactions with others.

Our office is closing and we will be working from our homes. We have left the decision to our techs if they want to continue working with one already choosing to take the time off.

Luckily I have programming and quoting that I can complete at home for the time being.

All my service and smaller projects that were schedule have been delayed, nothing canceled yet.

The one larger project I was just starting this week is getting delays in getting everything worked out as we can't meet and some things just require being in person for.

I hope I can keep working on this project as it's a rough-in right now, so not really an enclosed space and only 1 or 2 others MAY even be there and easily can stay 15+ feet from each other.

My wife is works at hospital, not even a nurse, but in her department (X-ray) they are doing 15-20 exams PER SHIFT on suspected Covid-19 patients. She says the lungs on these people look terrifying.

Child care was a huge issue at first, but if my work totally stops at least that is one thing I can save money on while not working.

I’ve made 2 decent sales as a result of people coming to their vacation homes here and being frustrated with their 10-15 year old gear failing while they’re trying to work remotely. As long as governor big fat Jim doesn’t shut me down, I might make it through the next couple months
