Is there a keyboard app or an actual keyboard that would allow searching in each Roku app?

The Roku app has a keyboard.
Knowing that Gold went up a few K makes me think "well now I have to do a better job on selling more equipment".

The Roku app does have a keyboard, it does not function on the Amazon Prime app.

Well you could have told us that it didn't work for the Amazon app.

By the way, I went and tested and you are correct. The Roku app keyboard does not work in the Amazon app. It also doesn't work in the YouTube app.
It did work on Netflix, Vudu, Crackle, and a few others.
I don't have time to go thru all the apps to see which ones the keyboard works on and which ones it doesn't. But it is more than just the Amazon app.

The only thing you can do is submit a ticket to Roku to fix the app compatibility. It is only after they receive a ton of complaints, will they update with a fix.

Since you can not pair a bluetooth keyboard to a Roku, the app is your only option.
