Went to a job today where we installed an MX-450 a couple years ago and the remote looks brand new but was dead. I inquired about it and was informed that it goes through batteries almost daily so it doesn't get used.
After putting fresh batteries in it noticed that it looks like pixels are burnt out but these change from screen to screen and in the setup of the remote the prev and next text never appears (thinking this is all related to each other).[Link: imgur.com][Link: imgur.com][Link: imgur.com][Link: imgur.com]
You can't fix stupid

I'd plug it into your laptop and run a firmware update with the Archiver software. I believe there was an old firmware that caused screen issues.

Call URC support. There was a known issue with earlier versions of those remotes. They will replace it for free. I have replaced several. The new ones are fine
