If his unit fits, pickup some woodgrain vinyl wrap, screws are on the bottom makes it perfect candidate, it's not hard to learn to vinyl wrap, or find someone local who does.

We've done a couple outdoor APs. And this unit would be a lot easier to do with it's soft corners and more compact than that metal one.

How much smaller than a single gang plate do you want it?

Wood veneer is as thin as cardboard.

That FSR piece is as small as you will find.
