Hi Dose anyone know of an IR emitter, that will transmit IR up-to about 10m. There is very little daylight to interfere with the signal. If not an emitter is there any booster. Currently I’m using a Xantech 283M Blink emitter in a 789-44 connecting block. Can anybody help?
Thank you

I've always dreamed of putting an IRC-1 (or whatever the new # is) in an old car headlight frame to focus the IR and see how far it went... never tried it, though! 10M is pretty far... why can't you run a wire?

The room is finished and it was a bit of an after thought. It is for to electric curtain tracks. I have tried using a QED flood emitter and (SL-FE) inside a PIR housing which improved the range but nowhere near enough.

I dont know if its feasible for you, but if you can use Universal Remote product, the blaster on the MRF250 would easily cover that.

I have solved this problem before. Speakercraft sells a connecting block very similar to the Xantech except it has a built in amplifier which is selectable on 2 of the 4 emitter jacks. I used the Speakercraft IR blaster also (the instructions are funny on the block - they literally say "do not connect an emitter to these two ports with the amplifier on. You will smoke the emitters!" I shot the signal about 25 ft with no problems.
