With what is going on in China, what is everybody's thoughts on the short and longterm impact to our industry?
Currently, around 60,000,000 Chinese are quarantined and basically the entire country is on an "extended" Chinese New Year "vacation".
With the state of just in time inventory, many of the products (or parts to make said products) made in China, how long do you think it will be before we start seeing shortages and/or products flat out being unavailable?
If any, what steps can/should we consider to mitigate this and protect our businesses?

You need to sit on stock for up-coming jobs. I know everyone LOVES their cashflow, but you need to know that there's a very real chance that suppliers will run out. Not only will suppliers miss out on having stock manufactured, they may not even be able to tell what's on the next boat / plane coming their way as the logistics and warehousing side of the Chinese manufacturers is closed too. Even if your products are put together in China, there will most likely be parts that originate in China that could be potentially unavailable.

This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers. #makesonosgreatagain |

But, Dunnersfella is hitting the nail.
The Central Govt (China) has currently slated Feb/10 as return to work day, school will resume of Feb/17. But that has been left (very) open, personal guess is that we will lose a month before actual manufacturing starts. Even if work starts sooner there will be a big shortage of production people (they are always short after CNY), many do come from the Wuhan area (locked down), and others do not want to take a chance of exposure, so.....

Brent's comments are accurate as this will bump against CNY. Good thing we produce everything in the UK. No virus, no tariffs, just fish n chips.

Golly I’m so glad I have you teaching me everything that’s true.
And you are so nice, too! I know liberals are especially proud of the fact that they set the bar high for tolerance!
I am one lucky guy.

Censoring free speech is dangerous especially when it could expose the real agenda. Closed and obeying blind minds make it easy for the master plan to fall into place. And why is always the same two dumb$hits that fark up every remotely controversial subject.

Just SHUT UP AND OBEY! That's the mantra.
Disagree? Then SHUT UP AND OBEY!
Its all about control. Control the message, control the minds.
So, just SHUT UP AND OBEY! Good lil' doggie. Unfortunately there are those that are EASILY manipulated and all they want to do is obey. You know who you are. So do we.
