I am so used to it I don't want to change. I've never had an issue, but I understand there are big risks. What do you think?

I still use if because I need it for Window media center. I use it for all my main tv viewing/recording via 5 networked tuners.

We still have a Win95 legacy box and three XP boxes which get frequent use... 2006 Toshiba laptop is still rock solid. Sposedly a major security threat using XP?

Got a new Dell laptop last year with Windows10 - an absolute POS operating system and basically a plasticized throwaway laptop.

Windows 10 I found to be an easy transition from 7. There are some things I don't like but I find it really easy to use.

People overplay the "Security Threats".

That being said, 10 is a great OS and theres no reason not to update. Just like anything though there is some time getting used to the changes.

I moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10 years ago and the transition was painless.

I recently put Windows 10 on an old low budget HP laptop that had windows 8 on it. The laptop went from a boat anchor to something that you can actually use for typical daily computing.

If you need to use old apps that might not run on W10 and you are not visiting risky websites or opening strange emails, the risk is minimal and you can continue with the old apps on the old systems.

Some new or newly updated apps might not run on stale systems. I updated a laptop earlier in the week because of this. It was a relatively painless process that required several hours. So far there have not been any ugly surprises. Evidentially, a lot of junk trash files were deleted because there is more free space. W10 might run a little slower, I don’t have a good handle on this yet, but I’m on the path of increasing RAM.

As of Tuesday, the free upgrade was still available, but not well publicized.

As someone who only get their first computer in 2005, WebTV user before that and after. I'm still using win 7, but just purchase Dell 9020m with i5, 128 ssd, and win10 pro used for $150. Its coming 8gb of ram, but I purchased another 8gb ram for it. I just surf and answer remote question across the net.

I had a back up hard drive that would no longer work when updated to 10. And every time I turn on my laptop, I must reconnect to my network. Reconnect automatically does not work. I’m sure there are fixes. Just lazy about looking into it. However the worst problem is going from a perfectly working 7 Machine with quick turn on to a terribly slow pos right after the upgrade.
