Let me explain. For the installers who work with builders, do you include subwoofers as part of your HT speaker packages in new homes?

Thanks,

Ed

When we do home theater speaker packages, yes. We include subwoofers.

No sub = No home theater. A sub must be specd as part of a package.

Yes we do, I have not heard of a 5.0 HT. It would be a disservice not to include the sub.

why would you spec the HT without the sub? I have always specd it for HT.

Yes and no.

We have several different packages one being just the in-wall speakers installed with a pre-wired sub location for them to add a subwoofer at a later time. We found that every home buyer is different and occasionally you will have the home buyer that has a subwoofer and receiver from their previous home and all they want is the speakers added. Usually we sell the full package though.

We always spec a sub or full-range towers. I want other people who see one of our systems to be amazed and impressed. Most people aren't informed enough to know that your system will sound great once the sub is added. They will just think that the piece of crap system they hear at BB or CC blows your stuff away.
