Please say this isn’t so. Did a Sonos update and now Im forced to use Spotify Connect. Customer has to go back and forth between apps to adjust zone volumes. Just like every other speaker system now! WTF!!!!

WHYyyyyy these people send these updates out during the holidays is beyond me.

Just get the customer to download their music to their iOS device and play directly off their iPad or iPhone... oh... hang on, never mind.
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

I just updated my Sonos Connect to 10.5.1 but I can still access Spotify directly (i.e. without having to use Spotify Connect.)

What are others seeing?
If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

Maybe there is a difference between the free and paid versions of Spotify?

Spotify is dead to me. I will no longer pay for or recommend usage.
I love supporting product that supports me!

Anyone else enjoy Deezer?

Who uses Amazon Music? Looks like they're making steps in the right direction re: gapless / HD etc...
Amazon, Google, Apple - they pretty much own the world and I rate their chances of surviving an economic downturn compared to the other 'paper rich' companies like Tidal etc.
Thoughts?

Have been with Amazon for more than a year and love it. It could have been Apple Music but the former got me at the right time and place. Either seem like the VHS vs BetaMax going forward while the rest is fading into noise. Just my opinion.

Amazon was fine until tracks started disappearing from my playlist. It just says they're not available anymore, with no other explanation. I did some looking into it to see what's up with that but never found an answer. It's infuriating.

Sonos issued this Tech Bulliten this week...

Spotify Free
We are thrilled to announce that Spotify Free users are now able to stream directly to their Sonos speakers using the Sonos app or Spotify connect, making it even easier to get music playing for those new to Sonos.

A new design and layout for Spotify in the Sonos app helps to easily discover new music and listen to Spotify favorites. With Spotify Free, customers can access Spotify’s entire catalog on shuffle and will have access to 15 personalized on-demand playlists, including Discover Weekly, Release Radar and Daily Mix.

We’ve also added Spotify’s eSDK to our products which lets Spotify Free users Direct Control from the Spotify app, and add their free account to Sonos.
