Just curious what you guys are doing - if it ever comes up even - to trigger screen drops when the PJ doesn't have a trigger. I've got a screen on order with 12v drop switch built in (Screen Research) as the spec'd projector had a 12v trigger. The customer is really excited about the new Sharp XV-Z2000 which does not have a 12v jack. I don't want to run the trigger off the receiver as the screen won't always be down when the amps are on, etc.

Niles Intellicontrol

Here in OZ we use an Andrews Audio (CB21?) screen controller. But if you're really game, find a 12v fan inside the unit!! ;-) And hope you never need a warranty repair.

Niles APC-2 ...if you dont wanna use the intellicontrol. Just be sure to have the projectors power outlet run to the equipment head end and have the sparky wire a plug on the end instead of hardwiring it to the AC.

Xantech CC12 is the best solution. Just installed one the other day on a vutec lectric 1. Remember you will have to use he RC68 to program it.

If you're using an I.R. repeater system - Niles MSU-250 has an I.R. controllable 12V output. Codes are available on their tech support website.

Xantech AC-12, is an IR controlled electrical outlet, you can program your macros to trigger the screen when necessary

Dont forget that a lot of Receievrs have a 12V trigger built in now..... Or a Switched Outlet..... $6.00 12V Power Supply is all you ned then.

Impaqt - I don't want to trigger off the receiver as it will be on when the screen is up often for music only or for sound with an RPTV. The system is a funky one actually. The screen will drop in front of an existing Mits. RPTV in a built-in wall unit for "bigger event" viewing. Component video sources need to be switched between 2 outputs (thinking about Zektor's HDS4.2).

I have done my share of screen drops, but always used a trigger - built into the projector so I never had occasion to investigate. The Xantech (at a first glance) seems to work off a momentary switch, but I think the screen needs constant (probably a way to re-wire that though).

BCM-OZ... Love the idea of hacking a cooling fan on the PJ! ;) That is just the kind of tweak I would do if it were at my own house, but not with a client.

I remain perplexed as to why any manufacturer would leave out a trigger on any projector. It can't be worth more than about $1 in parts on a really bad day.

Thats a Budget projector... More time than not, its being installed with a cheap (Read Fixed, or more liky Pull down) screen. Trigger isnt a consideration.. Probobly more like $3-5 in parts, but by the time that gets to a Retail price, like $50-$100 more..... Crazyness.....

The CC12(Or AC12) can Latch on a Pulsed command... so No problem. The RC68+ Provides Momentary, ON and Off commands for the relays.

The remote has four commands: Discrete On, Discrete Off, Toggle and Momentary. Multiple units can be set up using different code sets.

If your email address were in your profile, a ccf containing the codes and saving you from having to buy an RC68 would be in your email RIGHT NOW. I recommend everybody put their email address in their profile for just this reason. In all the time I have used this site, I have never seen anything to indicate that my email address was misused as a result of it being published here.

Also, the denon receivers have selectable source 12v trigger. You can set the 12v for the DVD, Tv , VHS and other video inputs.

Look into the Intellicontrol - it has a cool Dual TV feature that controls exactly your situation... I've used it a couple of times, and it was great...
