What are you using for LED strip lighting? Have a client and he'd like me to add lighting along the steps and above some crown molding in a media room we are doing. Ideally, it could tie in to a light switch for basic on/off control through a Lutron Grafik Eye. His electrician used Sylvania Lightify in his kitchen but wondering if there is anything else I should be looking at.

Reach out to Brent. They have an LED line we are using in a condo development with it's own app for RGB.

I buy mine thru ECD (Electronic Custom Distributors) in Houston. IR controlled main unit, power supply(depending on how many strips), and the LED strips. I only use the outdoor ones because they are coated in silicone. Works great, easy to use, and reliable!

I've been working with Environmental Lights for 5-6 years and have their LED strip installed on several very large projects (thousands of feet of LED strip) without any issue. They carry UL rated products and have almost any option you can think of. https://www.environmentallights.com/

I ordered a "expensive strip" from amazon RGB-WW and I have another strip coming from SIRS-E https://sirs-e.com/ The price difference is about 5X more with the Sirs.....Im anxious to see the difference between them, I can already tell the amazon strip is going back, The WW is a far from warm and it looks awful and the output levels are a total joke..... The other thing to remember is power supplies do matter.....MeanWell is the only one that I would trust putting in in a clients home. over the last month I probably have a few days of research in total between different lighting systems....Another option for the Tunable white strips is to use "Converging Technologies" since circadian rhythm wasnt a requirement on this project I decided against them, otherwise I wouldn't Hesitate to use their LED strips and systems

I used environmental lights in my own kitchen for under cabinet lighting. The whites are perfect and has been going strong for past 7 years.

LED Strips- all depends on what the client is willing to spend. Environmental Lights and Sowilo ( [Link: sowilodesign.com]) are higher end and $$$. Amazon or anything else you can find on the web are OK to get the job done, but quality control is definitely lacking, so be prepared for multiple returns or fixing strips yourself. Power Supply- As mentioned, Meanwell. It's the only option. DMX control- Response Box from Engineering Solutions ( [Link: response-box.com]). This blows away any other solution and I've tried just about all of them.

I just wanted to post that I got the RGB-WW from Sirs-E and wanted to report back that there is a definitive difference between the expensive ones and the amazon specials. The warm white is extremely accurate, and they dim beautifully. The RGB aspect is also very impressive. I’m only using a $20 RGBW controller from amazon to test but the color reproductions are also really good. So with a legitimate RGBW controller these should be perfect.
Above all else, the light output is insane. I would say they are easily 3-4 times brighter then the strips I got from amazon. $27 vs $170 for 5M is a huge difference, but also it shows.

The age old saying rings true, you get what you pay for! This saying is not exactly true. You might pay for something and get ripped off, or find you're dealing with a low-price company that doesn't have consistent sources or consistent products. In reality this is more often true: You don't get what you don't pay for.

All the way down to barely knowing it's on - with no flicker at all. That being said, I've also had great results with SuperBrightLEDs tape light when used with Lutron drivers. This is an affordable solution.

I have some I picked up at auction.
They were just some basic incandescant outdoor ones that sold at Lowe's Home Improvement, and the length is not long enough for the sun room project I have at the beach.
I also have two LED sets, but need to cut down the length to make a end to end length in order to go completely around the room without some overlap.
Anyone ever cut down the length of these things?
Just running these off of an outlet that is controlled by an old URC light switch, and don't need or want to dim them.
