Where I worked back in the day, they had a Monster sales contest. I won three years in a row and got to go drive all of Lee's exotic cars. The Ferrari was the best, but his twin turbo Porsche was really fast. I drove the Ferrari 165 mph, with the guy in the front seat about to shiat his pants.
Fun times!
I worked for Monster in San Fran and Europe. When in the US I took care of all the cars, the best was the turbo Civic. It could beat the Ferrari off the line but couldn't take it at speed.
It was painful place to work. I've never seen staff turnover like at Monster. Noel would call you at 3am to do a listening test. They once brought in all the top reps to meet with the Monster heads of each division. I was Car Audio and Scott was Pro Audio. Instead of us sitting down and discussing what they needed, we had to wash the cars so the reps could drive them.
At the time, his son Kevin's "big" contribution to the company was selling Patriot Condoms.......
I was flying back and forth to Europe every other weekend. Never on company time, you flew on Saturdays and Sundays on your time. We would arrive at the airport and there would be 30 extra boxes of products with zero paperwork. Back then you'd just tip the outside porter $5 a box and they'd make it on the plane. Then at arrival you'd have to figure out a way to get it through customs with the least amount of hassle.
When they first hired me it was for me to represent them in Europe. They had me come to the states for "training" illegally. They had to pay me cash because I wasn't legal. After 6 months they decided they wanted me in the States for another 3 years...... illegally, too expensive to pay a lawyer. I said no way so they said, see you later, they were going to leave me high and dry stuck in San Fran. Luckily they were way too stupid and had me sign a contract at the very beginning. I got a fully paid 2 week vacation back home, all my flights and moving expenses to Europe covered and a good chunk of cash!!
