I'm sorry if I overlooked it but I could not seem to find a Control4 forum here on RC. I am working on troubleshooting an Issue with a Control4 system for a friend and thought RC might be the best place to start. I'd appreciate very much if someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. Thank you!!

I don't do Control4 but it seems that there might be a Control4 forum sponsored by Control4. Those guys would be even more focused on the product than RC members.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I’m not aware of a C4 specific forum on rc. There is a dealer forum though.
Just post your question as there are several C4 dealers that participate here.
There are also a couple C4 forums on Facebook

What types of issue(s) are you having? Have you contacted tech support via phone or chat? In regard to forum (not always an ideal place to troubleshoot), this is the official forum link: [Link: forums.control4.com]

Tweeterguy, My friends have a theater room that's totally controlled via a Control4 system. The problem is nothing is working. I mean nothing happens when you press any of the remote buttons. The remote itself powers on and everything appears to be fine. It just doesn't seem that anything is actually communicating. I will try the Control4 forum you suggested. Thank you so much!

Do you know if things are connected VIA IP, IR, RS232?

I did see IR emitters on the front of many of the components. The only two components I did not see IR emitters on the front of were the two Yamaha receivers but I assume the IR is plugged into the back of those units as I know those Yamahas have an IR input in the back. Could not see the back because they had one of those inside cabinet rack mounts and I couldn't figure out how it slides out.

Unfortunately that Control4 forum is for dealers only. They require a dealer ID number in order to register.  But thank you, it was worth a shot.

You could try c4forums.com. What you really need to do is reach out to the original dealer, or contact another dealer in the area.

c4forums is a mostly end user orientated forum
There are also at least 2 groups on Facebook, one being more dealer orientated.
And the mentioned dealer only official forum.
Participation gets very spread out.

There is a C4 user forum on Facebook and C4Forums.com for end users.

C4 is not something that is easily troubleshot with someone not familiar with the inner workings of the system. You really should call your dealer...

There's a Control4 sub reddit [Link: reddit.com] that has both dealers and end users. They field questions like this all the time.

This is accurate but skirts the question. Will C4 EVER be deemed worthy of RC? Or is the conversation really about RC/forums viability in the advent of social media? I personally love both formats but have often doubted that many people bounce back and forth. Case in point, I picked up a dual sport bike recently and sought info from both platforms. While I enjoyed the chatty aspect of social media, the real meat and potatoes of info could only be found on forums.

Can we vote on a C4 thread here? Aye if so.
