Sorry for the layman question. Does anyone consumer BD player app work well? I need a manufactures app Sony, Samsung, pana whoever's app to work from a phone table to a hardwired player on the same network.

Any suggestions. Just looking for simple play/stop kind of commands. Thanks in advance.

You may need to look into an actual control system.
I can’t recall ever seeing an app for any Blu-ray players.

I think LG players have phone app control

Various CE products have control over IP apps for almost 10 years now. The problem i have found is that there isn't just a list of what app works with what device. Even the products features/specs fail to mention if an app exists. Here is sony talking about their app back in 2010.
