Looking for a non-hub based, wi-fi water sensing solution. The large home does not have the possibility to do any hard wiring for sensors. Notifications via mobile device a must. Anyone have any recommendations? I see quite a few online but no experience. Hopefully someone has used some.

Not sure why you are so against the Leaksmart that has been mentioned many times in your requests in other channels.

Get their hub and as many sensors and repeaters (if needed) and install what the customer needs.. Add a valve that is cut in or snap on and now the water easily turns off.

It is exactly what your customer needs and won't rely on their wifi network.

Never said I was against Leaksmart. I saw it mentioned it one thread, yes. The request is for wifi, no hubs. Thus I posted here. Looking for those that have used wifi, no hubs, input. It may be they say it sucks and use leaksmart or something lol. That's my request as stated: wifi water sensors.

Thanks.

I have used Controlbyweb XW-112 with good luck.

Not sure why kind of reporting you are wanting but this will send an email. Additionally if wanting more features can connect this to another CBW device and have it trigger a relay upon alarm for the automation and/or security systems.

If you want a bit more flexibility I would go with the XW-111. This gives you two inputs so you can have a couple sensors connected (i.e. water and temperature) rather than just the water with the XW-112.

Yes. Guardian is the security installed. How did you guess that?

Will check that out! Thanks. Email notifications suck on ANYTHING lol. Who looks at email regularly these days? Without missing one or two. Text or push is a must.

If the email was something dire I would modify the notification from this specific account so it was something annoying, and since it wouldn't be the common notification sound would tempt someone to look at their phone. I would also do the same for a text message. If you aren't using a monitored security system to receive a phone call then it is your responsibility to ensure that you check your phone for all notifications.

I installed a couple of Grohe units. They seem to be very nice quality, and they did support text message. My German helper said they are the best, but he thinks everything that is German made is the best - often times he is correct, but he clings to it with regards to Volkswagen, so....
