anyone running into unusual system behavior with viatools projects created in v 4.4 that are now being modified in v 5.1? If you've got any problems creating new projects in 5.1, e.g. strange SC-4 behavior, etc please post those as well

I had tons of problems. You need to rebuild the entire projects in the newer version of Via tools. Do not import any panels into the project created from the older revs(5.0-5.08).

I was told, after tons of problems, that I should only use 5.1 if doing a System 12.I had problem with both 5.1 and 5.0. I am presently using 4.4 until i have more confidence in the software. Even projects that I built in 5.1 had problems when using with an SC-4. Not ready for prime time.

Stay with 4.4 until you have to do a System 12

I've been using 5.1 on a few recent systems. None with an sc4 yet, but soon. What exactly is the behavior that you've been noticing? I've got a very big job coming in the next few weeks i'd like to be completely ready for without surprises.
TIA
Mike

Errors we've experienced are DTNR communication error, after pressing a source button having the page flip right back to the "main" page, unreliable multizone control from a single panel, bizarre vianet analyzer results. Of all the systems we've ever installed and programmed, never I have seen software so prematurely released. Not good.

I had those same problems plus When I had my Apex panel connected the page/db trigger would arm the panel to away and then go off. This was with a System 6. The funny thing is all my problems went away when I connected my Apex with a rollover(not crossover) cat5 cable instead of a straight thru.
