Are any of you using a traditional fax machine via a VoIP system? How successful is it?

I currently don’t have a landline and not looking to get one. My thought is to use MagicJack for my faxes. As I would probably use the fax machine just a handful of times in a month.

I just went through my machine’s settings and there is a Compatibility setting for “Basic (for VoIP)”. I assume that it lowers the resolution or lowers the speed. I have no idea. Other options are High and Normal.

Any organization that needs to follow HIPAA. I’ve had to set it up for some of my clients in the medical field. No emails are allowed that might compromise a patient. Other than that I never see it anywhere

Decided to purchase a MagicJack. After the setup process, I was able to successfully send and receive a fax. So I’m happy thus far.

Setup an efax account and free up some office space when you dispose of the fax machine.
