We’ve found the ATVs to be more reliable now, especially since you can reboot them with an IR code.

I know what you are saying, but the way you said it is very funny. They have become more reliable because you can reboot them now LOL
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

The rebooting definitely has made a difference. But even without it, it seems ATV has gotten better lately. Roku has seemed to slip. One problem especially has been rokus seem to not hold up as well to updates and slow down and freeze up more as they become older

has anyone watched "The Boys"?

it's the first show that I've actually enjoyed from Amazon Prime.

With a Control system Roku has Apple beat as it has direct app launching without needing to navigate up/down/left/right. I know there are a bunch of un-certified IP drivers for AppleTV but I don't believe any of them allow for direct app launching. I would like the option to add a Netflix/Prime button on a remote rather than an AppleTV button then having to navigate to netflix/prime.
You can't fix stupid

I haven’t yet. I first thought it might be something my oldest daughter might watch with me. We watched Sabrina on Netflix. But when I watched the trailer, it looked maybe a bit too much on the mature side.

We only do Roku Ultras. Have not had any significant issues in recent memory.

not sure how old she is, but I wouldn't be comfortable watching it with my kid at any age.  watch the first episode yourself and you'll see why.

She’s 14. Now that you mention it, there were parts of the trailer that made me think the same thing. Definitely didn’t seem a father daughter show to watch.

I got a message from a new client, she got an email from Amazon that in September her Panasonic Player will cease to work for Amazon Video. Going to suggest a Roku or ATV if she insists on Apple.
Like others, I stopped even using the streaming option in DVD players, WAY TO MUCH NAVIGATING TO USE, which means unhappy clients ANS CALLS.

The Boys is awesome.... I might watch with my 20 year old son but that is the only family member I would watch with... mind blowing satire

I'll be curious to see what happens with my very old Sony BD.

So old that it has component output. LOL

I really only have it for visitors to the beach house that might want to play a movie rather than stream something.

I have had a few client complaints about rokus being sluggish as of late.

It is really, really noticeable. I have a TCL/Roku tv in my office and the lag on it in the streaming service pages/menus has gotten horrid in the last few months.

Meanwhile the Firestick and Appletv I have attached to the same tv are still trucking along.
I am a trained professional..... Do not attempt this stunt at home.

Strange, I'm not finding anything on the Sony site about amazon but there is this:
[Link: sony.com]

Beginning on August 14, 2019, the Hulu app will no longer be available on certain U.S. Blu-Ray Disc player models, due to the fact that the app will no longer be supported by Hulu on those models. Please refer to the list of U.S. models below to determine if your device is affected. This list is subject to change.
(The full list is on the link.)

On Amazon's site there is this:
Sony
• Streaming Video Quality - up to Ultra HD
• Sound quality - up to 5.1 surround sound
• Closed Captions (Subtitles) - Yes (on models released in 2013/4 or newer)
• Audio Description - No
• Live Streaming - Yes (on select models released in 2014 or newer)
• Live ad support - Yes (on select models released in 2014 or newer)
• Ad supported channels - Yes (on select models released in 2014 or newer)
• Support Website - [Link: sony.com]

Where is this IR reboot code?
