New to RTI programming - when charging or fully charged the brightness is too high in the room. Where in the software can you decrease the charging station brightness level? Thanks!

Last I checked directions were on a Sharpie marker label. Black.

Such sloppy non-professionalism; piece of electrical tape custom cut to LED shape with optional small hole for status verification ;)

I appreciate the sarcasm - but just don't think that's what would be appropriate in a $2,000,000 + house.

Well, of course! For that house, the charging station is placed inside a cabinet so that the wires from it -- and the LED Torches -- cannot possibly look bad. I mean, EVERY ad for EVERY product that has actual wires connecting to it shows no wires. So you need to squirrel that charger away in its own little light-tight cavity.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Since no one is actually answering the question - maybe I'll get an helpful response posing it a different way.

Is there a feature in the RTI software to control the docking cradle brightness?

New to RC, too. Please mention model numbers, though in this case I don't think it would have mattered.

Use some detective skills. I'm thinking of a couple of RTI charging stations. They have a connector for the power supply and a set of connectors that touch the remote when it's in the cradle. I don't think any charging stations use USB connectors for the charging power, because ordinary power connectors probably cost less than USB connectors. It definitely costs more to mount USBs.

Plus, you don't program the remote when it's in the cradle.

All this means there's no way to transfer any programming to the charging stations.

So, no.

It seems that pretty much everybody who puts LEDs on products like this have no concept that they're making them too bright. This is made worse by the fact that it took several decades after the invention of LEDs for blue ones to be developed, and once they became available, engineers seem to have gone nuts putting them everywhere... or maybe they seem to be everywhere just because they make them too bright.

If it wasn't explicitly stated - I thought it was implied that I was referring to the current version of RTI's software (I think V9). And on some of the docks I've seen in the past (for the T3X/T2X/T2C/T2 - but same cradle for all unit pretty much) the brightness did seemed to be turned down. So unless you have direct experience with these (and if you do please say so) - I do believe it's possible.

You could open the base and modify LED lense from the inside

Saying "turned down" implies that you think it used to be brighter and had been modified. Nope. That's the way they made 'em.

It's always possible to void a warranty and modify a product. Since it's a charger that probably has too little current to ever start a fire, you'll probably be safe.

But you asked about changing the brightness in the programming, so the answer is still no.

(Your "not explicitly stated" was very far from explicit, too, being "charging dock" in the thread title, "charging station" in the first post, and making no distinction in either the title or the first post between the newer docks and the older ones [which you seem to find acceptable].)

Zatz,

1) please see my signature

2) There is nothing in RTI's programming that adjusts brightness level on the charger.
