And they have separate RCA jacks for sub, right?

They do, but Definitive Technology recommends running them with speaker level and setting the AVR to "Large" speakers as it is a true full-range. You'd still want to use a separate sub for the LFE.

tl;dr - don't use the RCA connectors on a BP9060.

Yes, but why did you use them?

When I worked for best buy, doing home theater from 2007-2010 we did pre-wires. It wasn't a lot and much of it was people finishing basements and not whole homes but I did several new constructions.

Were you in a state that required license to pull wiring in walls?
What kind of training did Best But give you before they sent you out to do the work?

I'm not familiar with how Best Buy has done their home installations. But back in the late 90's early 2000's, Best Buy made all of their mobile install bay employees get MECP certified. Which was great until you learned it was a special testing session for a room of Best Buy employees and they allowed them to use open book and talk among themselves. At that point I actively damned the MECP to hell and bad mouthed them any chance I could, for the dirty underhanded BS 'crimes against humanity' they committed. What a total worthless scam shitfest the MECP turned out to be.

I did when I thought it stood for something back in the early 90's. Got my cerfification (93% on the test), then a few years later got my First Class certification (97% on the test), and was fixing to try for my Master Class certification.
That was the late 90's by then (1998 if I remember correctly) and when I learned from a friend that worked at Best Buy how the MECP was catering to them and literally handing out MECP certifications to the company. Made me sick to my stomach. Verified it thru a Best Buy district manager, who I pretended to be interested in a job with.
Talking with others, it appeared any large company that wanted to pay the money for a large group of their people to take the test, could get the same easy test conditions to almost assure a passing grade. All but the dumbest idiots anyway.

The MECP turned into a steaming pile of shysters. And having one of their certifications means absolutely nothing now!

For MN we have a Power Limited electrical license for low-boltage.

What, like 2-56 through 8-32?
Some of the BB guys do actually have that license.

If anybody gets screwed by this guy, it will NOT be in a big way.

It might shock you to know that not every state is like Texas.

In PA/NJ you have to have a Home Improvement Contractors License. In pther states you not only have to have that but also specific licensing like "low voltage license"

Apparently in CT you need a "E1" license which is probably their LV license.

As far as I know, CT requires that you have a T1 and/or T2 license for low voltage work. You need these to pull permits, otherwise you're f'ed.

We stopped maintaining ours years ago, as we did't get that much work in CT. We are in Boston but work in all of New England, except CT and RI. RI is about the same as CT. Too much hassle for maybe 1-2 jobs a year.
