They've collected so much data on you that they already knew you were going to post it.

Google recently did a major upgrade on their crawlers.  When indexing a web page, what used to take roughly 4 days to index now happens in less than 30 minutes.

I use ahrefs for my business.  I can track trending topics.  For example, sonos, smart lighting, etc.  Each morning I get an email that shows me everywhere on the web it was mentioned.

In your case, If I put a keyword of "39 cent Stamps".  I'd have this post in my email by tomorrow morning. (and that's not even google).

The issue you're going to have with your test is it's such a popular topic, that your post will be buried under everything that deserves higher ranking.

To really check...Do something where you're talking about nonsense.  For example, chocolate unicorns riding bicycles.

Then you'll be able to locate it relatively quickly.  In fact, now that I typed "chocolate unicorns riding bicycles".  You can search it.

From google:
About 5,620,000 results (0.61 seconds)

I'm sorry. What point were you making?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Well you'd have to quote it and tell Google only to match that exact phrase. Otherwise it will match anything with any of those words.

How is it that Ernie saw over 5 million hits and I only saw 2.2 million when I searched without quotes or apostrophe? With apostrophe, I had 2.4 million and with quotes, one- a link to this thread.

"chocolate unicorns riding bicycles" -with the double quotes searches for the exact phrase.
chocolate unicorns riding bicycles -searches for sites with any of the 4 words.
allintext:chocolate unicorns riding bicycles -searches for sites that have all four words.

With the quotes only one result is found - Remote Central.
