Have a customer with a 900 unit building whose door entry system has gone bad. The replacement cost is about $11,000. Client has asked me if I am aware of any other unit that can be used as a replacement. I haven’t been able to find any unit like this as this is a 19 inch floor standing touchscreen in a stainless steel housing

The current unit is this one [Link: viscount.com]

Anyone know of a similar brand? I looked at the larger brands and didn’t see anything. It also doesn’t help that everyone is going to video intercom instead of basic telephone entry, they don’t want that.

Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

Is this a typo? 900 Unit? If not then $11000 is like $12.25 per unit. I am sure the client can hit the residence up for the cost of a coffee and donut.

I was thinking about this last night. These buildings could just have everyone put their aluminum cans in a special bin for a month and come up with the $11000 lol.

What Mac said. Use the right tool for the job. How much is he renting each unit for? Let’s say it’s $1500 a month. That’s $1.35 million a month. Tell him to stop being a cheap bastard.

I don’t know if that’s correct now. I read the market for recyclables has collapsed right now.
