Rhino 5200 has been rock solid. I got mine when my distributor had a promotion - Free rhino with tape purchase.

First 2 were smudging after a few weeks. And now my 3rd just jams and tells me to replace the cartridge. Any other suggestions for a good cable label maker for under $400

[Link: bradycanada.ca]We have the older TLS2000 and the thing is awesome. Many different label types and the labels hold for years. Im working on a job right now that was completed in 2008 and the labels look the same today as they day they were printed and put on the wire

We had a problem with a batch of bad Rhino labels. They would curl causing illegible printing and jamming. Prior and since things have been OK.

We wanted nice shiny plastic labels, got 'em, and they peeled off in a little while. A few different trials brought us to the (Dymo) Rhino Pro 3000 and label tape type 18488, black type on a white background.
Before trying it out, it never made sense to me to use flexible nylon tape with a bend down the middle, but it's just better than the shiny plastic stuff.

Thanks guys. I just bought the Brady BMP21-PLUS-KIT1 It has to be better then that Dymo XTL300 We have had our Brady TLS2000 (replaced by the BMP61) for over 10 years and the thing is a beast. We had a supplier talk us into a Dymo a few years ago just for small random labels and the thing sucked. We have since replaced it with the BMP21 and for patch panels, or longer labels haven't had a problem. For wires I find that the labels don't stick or hold over time, and I am going to the TLS to do these and anyone that is doing labels for wire, the BMP61 is the only printer I would recommend. Yes the BMP61 is $1000 but we have had our TLS for over 10 years and have never had issues with it. I wish the damn thing would die so I can get the BMP61.

Not only do those dymo label printers suck , but their support is even worse. They don’t even bother to respond. Damn, $1000 to print labels is a tough one. But I’m gonna look at it.

Yes $1000 is hard to swallow but think of all the money spent in switching printers every couple years. A new printer is about $200 plus labels (lets say $100 to start) and you do this every 2 years (not including your time to research, buy, transition, and learn the new printer) you could have easily purchased the BMP61.
